This photograph taken by Jaimel Barra is a great display of the body and how it can be used in sections to make a photograph.  The first reason why this picture is attractive to the eye is because of the portion of the body and the body itself.  The body is beautiful, the person being used as a model is sexy and the curves of her will more than likely always attract a mans eye.  I also like the tattoo on the left side of the woman, it acts as a leading line; either directing you from the left side of the body to the center or vice versa.  The final reason why i enjoy the picture is the soft background.  What this does is it puts even more emphasis on the body and the tattoo.

Assignment 2 9/19

This picture grabbed my attention while i was looking through the deviant art website.  It caught my eye because i enjoy macro shots, small things in detail are extremely appealing to me.  The idea that you can get in real close and capture details on something that your eye would not normally be able to capture is fascinating.  Another reason why i enjoy this picture because i like the human body being used as a subject of a photo.  The eye in this picture is clearly the subject, and the eyelashes draw you into the eye and act as leading lines.  Also the transparency of the eye and the reflection that you can see in the eye, work well with all of the other components of the picture because they add small details that help give the picture more content.  Lastly, the photographer did a good job as using the edge of the eye as a frame for the right side of the picture.

assignment 1 (9/11)

http://browse.deviantart.com/photography/darkroom/#/d49jsei

This pictures composure is textbook.  The black and white effect brings out detail in the photo as well as giving it a somewhat erie look.  The vignette effect helps makes the emphasis of the photo on the statue.  Also, the framing of the subject by using the lines of the roof helps direct the eye towards the subject.
This photo really works for me for several reasons other than the composition.  The black and white affect is an immediate turn on for me because i am really into film photography and i always shoot in black white film.  Other than the black and white affect i like the statue that the photographer took the picture of.  The style of the old greek/roman god statues has always been eye catching to me.  Overall this photo works compositionally and the subject draws my attention.
